In 1986, Alan Metzler went to work with a pickup truck, a John Deere 640 Cable Skidder, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to a principal of unwavering integrity.

In the early 1990’s, Metzler pioneered the way in the niche market of in-woods chipping throughout Pennsylvania. The success achieved during this important time in our history helped pave the way for our growth and expansion and positioned us to provide additional complementary forest product services, including land clearing, excavation, forest products transportation, mulch and firewood production.

Today, Metzler employs more than 75 full-time employees and continues to lead the way as one of Pennsylvania’s premier forest products companies. And while we maintain our focus on the future, we never forget the lessons of our past and the vision of the man who started it all. It’s why we continue to operate as a responsible leader and innovator within our industry, remain driven by our commitment to quality work and customer satisfaction, and hold our founder’s value of integrity above all else.
